BIOGRAPHY
Janson C. Guillen is the Artistic Director and Conductor of the Frisco Chorale, a community chorus that serves the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex through performance and outreach. He also serves as the Director of Choirs and AP Music Theory teacher at Liberty High School.
Janson received his Master of Music in Choral Conducting and Bachelor of Music Education degrees from Texas Christian University, graduating with a 4.0 GPA during graduate school, and magna cum laude during undergraduate. During his graduate studies, he served as an assistant conductor for TCU Concert Chorale, FrogCorps, and Cantiamo, in addition to being a teaching assistant for the undergraduate conducting course. Janson was a featured conductor with the TCU Concert Chorale at their Texas Music Educators Association (TMEA) performance in 2023; a memory he will never forget. During his first year of teaching, his choirs received superior ratings at adjudicated contests.
As a solo artist, Janson was successful in the TEXOMA NATS competitions, placing 3rd in 2017, 2nd in 2018, and 1st in 2020. With the TCU Concert Chorale, Janson was a featured soloist at their TMEA performance in 2018, as well as at the “Bernstein at Bass Hall” concert. Janson also performed as the baritone soloist for the world premiere of Nico Guiterrez’s Requiem for the New World. As a choral artist, Janson sings with professional choral ensembles, Pasión, conducted by Dr. Eric Posada, and New American Voices, conducted by Dr. Z. Randall Stroope.
